Introduction

Maui also known as "The Magic Isle" has some of the most stunning beaches in the world. It is the second largest Hawaiian Island with one of the smallest populations.

While in Lahaina, Maui you will see volcanoes, Humpback Whales, craters and more.


Port Orientation

Holland America will dock at Kahului which is approximately 5 to 10 minutes from the city of Kahului.


Transportation

The best way to see Maui is by renting a car, but there are also bus tours, shuttles, taxis and public transportation.


Sightseeing

There is an historical whaling museum that is very interesting with artifacts, photos and other items that will illustrate what Maui was like in the 1800's. Another interesting museum is the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum, located on the sugar plantation transporting you back to a time when the sugar was harvested there. You can also take a ride on the Sugar Cane Train.


The beaches are beautiful and the ocean even better, snorkeling is amazing here, so put on your fins and mask and take a dip. One beach to see is Waianapanapa, it has black sand beaches and underground pools.


And like all Hawaiian Islands, Maui also has volcanoes and craters to see.
